DREAM + DO = DARE

Dare 2009 has two components: DREAM and DO.

Dream: A creative community

The creative community will be the influencers of Dare content. They will pitch game ideas that the community and the selected teams will review, vote on and choose which prototypes that the DO hothouse will deliver. The DREAM community will be invited to come to Dare ProtoPlay to show off their creative talent to the general public in the format of the Hyde Park speaker’s corner.

Do: An inspirational core

Apply Now!The original Dare to be Digital competition for talented and well qualified arts and science students and graduates but now characterised by a UK wide and international selection process to choose teams of five students to take part in the Dare hothouse in Dundee, Scotland. They will receive a stipend, industry mentoring and immediately at the end of the competition, they will need to demonstrate their game to an audience of thousands at Dare ProtoPlay, part of the Edinburgh International Festival. The three best prototypes as judged by the industry will be nominated for the BAFTA Ones To Watch Award.
