After you submit your application
Following submission of your application form, you will be sent an electronic response acknowledging your submission.
After the closing date all applications will be viewed by a Selection Panel, which involves project funders and figures from Industry. The panel will score each application and the highest scoring applications will be invited to attend a Dare Selection Day in one of the selection regions (please see the selection event page for interview dates). You will be informed by email if you have been chosen for the selection day, at which all your team should be present.
Selection Day
Please note that our selection panel generously give their time freely therefore we can set only one selection day for each region . Once the date is set, it cannot be changed. We endeavor to ensure that this date does not clash with your exam and holiday periods but it is often hard. All team members should be present at the selection day however we do understand that exceptional circumstances such as exams may not permit all the team to attend, however you are wanting to make a good impression on the judging panel so please try to have all the team present if possible.
At the selection day, teams will be asked to do a team presentation to the Panel, followed by some questions, lasting up to 35 minutes. You will be asked to inform the organisers of your requirements for your presentation prior to the selection day, as due to the time restrictions on the day of judging, we cannot spend much time on the day trying to upload last minute software for your presentation. After the presentations have finished, the panel will select the teams to take part and you will be informed of the Panel's decision by telephone and / or email after all selecttion events have taken place before the end of April. Feedback will be emailed to you. The Panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Selection Criteria
Teams will be selected on how well the game fits with the Dare criteria: market potential, innovation & creativity and best use of technology, so please cover these areas in your presentation.
